Presentation of Our Outcome Results

Day-Case Vasectomy Reversal Under Local Anaesthesia Presented at AUA Annual Meeting — San Antonio, Texas · May 20

We are pleased to share that our clinical outcomes in day-case vasectomy reversal under local anaesthesia were presented at the American Urological Association Annual Meeting, held in San Antonio, Texas, in May 2024 (Poster MP42-18).

This large cohort study reviewed 647 procedures, all performed as day-case surgeries under local anaesthesia using a refined single-incision microsurgical technique.

Key findings included:

  • 86.5% patency rate
  • 98% bilateral completion rate
  • 100% adequacy of local anaesthesia
  • No major complications reported

Patients were discharged on the same day and typically returned to normal activities within 1–2 weeks.

This work demonstrates that, in experienced hands, vasectomy reversal can be safely and effectively performed without general anaesthesia, offering patients a faster recovery and a streamlined treatment pathway.
